North Cascades Sportsman’s Club – otherwise known as “the gun club” has been operating up Washington Creek for many years. The club has a membership of over 500 members and on a yearly basis entertains upwards of 700 additional guests. The Club is where friends meet to enjoy their favorite shooting activities. We offer trap, skeet, rifle and pistol ranges, the NCSC can meet just about any of your shooting needs. We even have a FFA sponsored gun at our high school.
Last fall the members of the sportsman’s club put in a special request to the Foundation to help with the purchase of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and since the club is located in such a remote area, this was really a request that was very important for us to help them attain. Several of their members, who are there on a regular basis are either active or retired fire, EMT’s or paramedics, they will also offer the opportunity for any member to take a course in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED and First Aid. On behalf of the Foundation, President of the Board, Phyllis Gleasman and Vice-President, Linda Parker presented Dave Pletsch, NCSC Range Safety Officer with a check for $1500 to be put toward that purchase.
