Serving the Hospital Since 1947
Even before the first Lake Chelan Community Hospital opened its doors in August of 1948, Guild B was founded to provide it with community-based support. Guild B’s major fundraising project is the Home Tour. Their Lights of Love fundraiser and beautiful holiday season light display continues to delight all who visit the hospital.
Guild B Home Tour
In 2000, Guild B held its first Home Tour and in 2004 added an Art Show. Guild B’s annual Home Tour and Art Show continues to finance a broad array of hospital equipment from patient monitors, arterial blood readers, a computerized treadmill for cardiac assessment, and a second operating room that more than doubled the number of surgeries that can be performed. In recent years, purchases have been a state-of-the-art emergency room defibrillator that hospital staff assured us would “save lives,” neonatal equipment to monitor jaundice in newborns without the necessity of a blood test, and upgrading the DEXA bone scan machine. Proceeds from the 2018 Home Tour will be used toward construction of a post-partum Family Room in the new hospital, which is expected to open in 2020. Guild B is as old as the hospital it serves, and is dedicated to providing high quality healthcare for the community. We thank our community business partners and guests who have attended our events in helping to provide needed hospital equipment.
Guild Y has been working on fundraising and is considering two fundraising activities. The first is to sell pavers or bricks as part of the entryway into the new hospital. The second project would involve sponsoring a flea market and selling tables for folks who want to sell their wares. Officers for the coming year will be sworn in at the June 2018 meeting. All of our members are looking forward to a great summer!
Guild Y formed 52 years ago to support the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. Although years have passed, there are a few original members in our group. We currently have 25 members, many of whom routinely volunteer in various positions to serve our community.
